Japanese speaking Video Content Moderator

Location: Lisbon Portugal

Role: Japanese speaking Video Content Moderator

Salary: 1059 Euro gross per month (this does include also the holiday bonus meal allowance) plus free accomodation. Package without accomodation is 1262.50 Euro p/m gross

Working Hrs: 40 Hours per week (8 hours per day) on a rotational shift pattern Monday to Sunday 24/7.

As a Video Content Moderator you will join a multilingual social media project dedicated to maintaining a safe respectful and compliant online environment. You will review user-generated content and apply platform policies to identify potential violations. The content may include videos images audio posts and comments. You will also collaborate with policy compliance and legal teams when handling complex or escalated cases. This position requires excellent attention to detail strong reading and analytical skills and fluency in both Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Evaluating videos images written content and audio against the platform’s community standards.
• Identifying filtering and taking appropriate action on content that violates platform policies.
• Moderating comments posts user interactions and appeals to help maintain a respectful online community.
• Applying accurate labels and classifications to content for improved organisation and accessibility.
• Ensuring moderation decisions comply with relevant platform policies and legal requirements.
• Recording moderation decisions and reporting recurring issues or emerging content trends.
• Escalating complex or uncertain cases to the appropriate internal teams.
• Supporting a 24/7 operation through a rotating shift schedule including nights weekends and public holidays.

Requirements

• Fluency in Japanese and English with excellent reading comprehension in both languages.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while completing repetitive tasks.
• Good analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret and apply detailed guidelines consistently.
• Ability to work independently in a structured self-paced environment.
• Strong focus sound judgement and a professional approach to confidential information.
• Emotional resilience and the ability to review sensitive graphic or potentially distressing content professionally.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience in content moderation social media customer operations trust and safety or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
