DevOps Engineer

Present Technologies ranked on the Top 2 of the Best Place To Work in Portugal is seeking for highly-skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong background in networking to join our team. You will play a key role in designing implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure automation and secure network architectures that ensure our systems are highly available scalable and compliant. This role is ideal for someone who can bridge the gap between infrastructure networking and development.

ROLE DESCRIPTION - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and maintain secure resilient and scalable network architectures across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Configure and manage networking components such as VPCs subnets routing firewalls load balancers DNS VPNs and peering connections.
• Ensure network security and compliance including IAM policies and zero-trust networking principles.
• Troubleshoot and optimize network performance (latency throughput fault tolerance).
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads (Docker Kubernetes and Docker Swarm) with secure networking practices.
• Automate provisioning and configuration of infrastructure and networks using IaC (Terraform Ansible etc.).
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate networking and DevOps best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of experience in DevOps
• Strong expertise in networking fundamentals: TCP/IP DNS HTTP/S VPNs firewalls routing load balancing and traffic management.
• Hands-on experience configuring cloud networking services (AWS VPC Security Groups Transit Gateway Route 53 Azure VNets GCP VPC etc.).
• Proven experience with container orchestration and networking: Kubernetes (CNI ingress service mesh) and Docker Swarm (overlay networks services ingress routing).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform Ansible or similar).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python Bash or equivalent).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitLab CI GitHub Actions or similar).
• Solid understanding of security best practices in network design and implementation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and networks.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Certifications in networking or cloud (e.g. AWS Advanced Networking Cisco CCNP/CCIE).
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio Linkerd Consul) and microservices communication patterns.
• Exposure to compliance standards (ISO SOC2 GDPR) and secure network design.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects with a networking focus.
