What Youll Do

As a Contracts Manager youll be at the heart of our commercial operations: managing contracts across their full lifecycle while ensuring legal compliance and protecting company interests. Youll serve as a critical link between business development supply chain project management and legal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Lifecycle Management: Ensure that contracts with both domestic and international customers suppliers and partners comply with minimum commercial and legal terms and the groups corporate guidelines. Manage effective contract execution through the lifecycle from the issue of internal authorization through to contract closure including the contractual relationship with clients and suppliers throughout the life cycle of projects. Manage the preparation of responses to contract conditions and support of the request for bid approvals at both EIDs departmental and Cohort levels.

Negotiation & Advisory: Support negotiations with customers suppliers and partners reviewing contract terms and conditions leading to contract award and acceptance by liaising (handover) with the business development supply chain team and project management teams. Formulate and obtain internal approval for all agreements to be entered into as prime or sub-contractor and to review and recommend the entry into all contractual commitments with customers on behalf of EID. Collaborate with the different departments to negotiate favourable terms driving cost efficiencies without compromising quality or service levels. Provide general commercial legal advice on contractual issues.

Risk Management: Anticipate and identify legal risks and develop strategies to address and mitigate them. Support for resolving contractual disputes facilitating resolution in a timely manner. Manage contractual risks variations and claims.

Legal & Compliance: Compare adjust and apply preferred legal drafting to standard and non-standard EID Agreements. Support EIDs compliance and other legal tasks including liaising with legal firms.

What Youll Bring

Education: University Degree in Law (preferred) Business Administration Management or similar

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in contract management including reviewing drafting and negotiating commercial contracts

  • Experience supporting project teams throughout contract execution

  • Experience managing contractual risks variations and claims and working with different teams

  • Experience with international commercial or construction contracts

  • Experience in the maritime or defence sector is desirable

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to understand and execute contractual matters understanding standard and non-standard requests and proposing contractual structures and solutions

  • Experience in managing the end-to-end life-cycle of contracts including negotiation and execution

  • User-friendly computer skills

  • Ability to express oneself accurately in Portuguese and English both spoken and written
