Job Title: Concrete Labourer

Reports to: Site Foreman / Ganger / Site Supervisor

Description

Support concrete placement operations — preparing pouring compacting and finishing concrete — and provide general labouring to keep the works running safely and to programme.

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas for pouring: set out formwork edges clean and check reinforcement and shuttering are ready
• Assist with placing and pouring concrete by pump skip chute or barrow
• Compact concrete using poker/vibrators to remove air voids
• Level tamp float and finish concrete surfaces to the required standard
• Move load and unload materials plant and equipment around site
• Assist with striking and cleaning formwork and shuttering
• Carry out curing and protection of freshly poured concrete
• Keep work areas clean tidy and free of hazards; segregate waste correctly
• Support skilled trades (steel fixers groundworkers finishers) as directed
• Comply with all site health safety and environmental procedures

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS card
• Previous labouring experience on construction or civils sites
• Experience with concrete pours poker vibrators and basic finishing (desirable)
• Abrasive wheels poker vibrator or dumper/plant tickets (desirable)
• Confined space or working-at-height certification (desirable)
