The Role
My client a battery recycling company with a global footprint is currently looking for someone to manage sales & procurement activities related to battery scrap in Malaysia. The main focus is securing a steady supply of raw materials for their plant while also handling the commercial side of things.
What You Will Do
- Find suppliers - look for new source of battery scrap in Malaysia and other ASEAN countries (e.g. battery makers EV companies other recyclers).
- Handle pricing - negotiate purchase prices and contract terms.
- Track the market - monitor metal prices (Lithium Nickel Cobalt etc.) and stay updated on industry trends.
- Work with internal teams - coordinate with operations logistics and finance to ensure timely deliveries and legal compliance.
- Manage supplier relationships - visit suppliers check their performance and maintain good working partnerships.
What is Required
- Education: Bachelors Degree or higher
- Experience: At least 3 years in sales / procurement.
- Industry background (any):
- Battery manufacturing
- Battery recycling
- Metal recycling / trading
- EV manufacturing or aftersales
- Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
- Skills: Experience in procurement sales business development or supply chain management.
- Good to have:
- Knowledge of hazardous waste management or import/export.
- Ability to speak Mandarin.
- Willingness to travel.
