Job Description

Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.

Location: KL Office / EPCIC fabrication yard (TBC) Malaysia

Type of hiring: 2 years Contract

Primary Objective:

Lead and supervise the Project Execution which includes Offshore EPCIC and Onshore EPCC phases covering the entire EPCIC/EPCC process. Offer guidance and expertise on all matters pertaining to SSHE concerning the Project. Encourage a culture where safety is paramount aiming for zero incidents both within the COMPANY and among CONTRACTOR personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise each EPCIC/EPCC package to ensure adherence to safe work practices and compliance with the SSHE Management & Execution Plan along with all relevant SSHE programs (as detailed in EXHIBIT E SSHE requirements).
  • Collaborate with internal departments contractors and external stakeholders to mitigate operational risks by implementing effective SSHE Management Systems (SSHEMS) before and during project execution.
  • Evaluate Contractor SSHE performance conduct inspections at Fabrication yards and on Contractors marine spread/vessels and offer SSHE enhancement suggestions to PTTEP CSR and Contractors as required.
  • Attending Project SSHE Meetings HAZID workshops and Risk Assessments for significant Construction events and Offshore operations.
  • Engage in and observe incident investigations reviewing reports and closure documents prepared by EPCIC/EPCC Contractors.
  • Offer supervision and advice on relevant SSHE issues to the Project SSHE site team and Contractors SSHE team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Science (Physics Biology Environmental or Chemistry) Engineering Safety industrial Hygiene or equivalent professional qualification in related fields.
  • At least 15 years of SSHE experience in significant Oil & Gas Onshore & Offshore Construction Projects encompassing roles both on the Client side (with major O&G Companies) and on the EPCIC/EPCC Contractor side (with major Malaysian and/or International EPCIC/EPCC Contractors).
  • 3 years of experience in a Deputy SSHE Management/Supervisor Role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an SSHE Engineer Lead and/or Supervisor in the EPCIC/EPCC Phase of Oil & Gas Projects.
  • Profound understanding and familiarity with International Safety Standards and best practices. Experience with Malaysian Safety Security Health and Environmental regulations related to the Oil & Gas industry and Construction works (preferred though not mandatory).
  • Proficiency in providing SSHE management advice and support for onsite Construction Projects including but not limited to SSHE Management & Execution Plan Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) SSHEMS SSHE plans and procedures Job Safety Assessments Permits to Work Incident investigation acting as an SSHE Coach and mentoring in SSHE improvement programs etc.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities capable of selecting appropriate methods and techniques to reach solutions.
  • Demonstrates high levels of interpersonal skills and integrity.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with project teams Contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English possessing excellent communication skills to advocate for SSHE culture and deliver effective SSHE training.
  • Local candidates will be primarily considered.
