Sr Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

Radiance Solar is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Level III or above) to join our team. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be directly reporting to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for creating engineering design plan sets for C&I largescale solar projects performing complex electrical calculations based on NEC standards guiding the engineering team with the daytoday design work and liaising with other CAD designers in the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Design 1MW to 50MW rooftop and groundmounted solar PV system projects focusing on the electrical engineering equipment layouts/specifications and interconnection aspects of the projects
• Engineer plan sets on AutoCAD to include site layouts electrical 1line diagrams equipment elevations grounding details equipment labeling and all necessary details to facilitate efficient permitting approval
• Perform grounding study AC & DC electrical calculations (load flow short circuit voltage drop) and equipment sizing calculations (KAIC rating battery sizing bus & cable sizing)
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary design and electrical team to create constructionspecific IFC plan sets that incorporate design elements of civil electrical structural and geotechnical aspects landscape architects and other 3rd party electrical design resources
• Ensure NEC utility regulations and AHJ code compliance on all electrical designs and applications
• Provide technical direction and guidance with BESS designs and BESSrelated product selection
• Lead field visits to determine solar feasibility and interconnection strategy
• Interact with project managers external Professional Engineering firms (EE) and Civil architects (RA) to facilitate timely stamping of electrical plan sets and IFP sets
• Work with Procurement and the internal electrical team to produce accurate electricalrelated Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Review design drawings produced by junior project engineer(s) and train them on industry standards and technical specifications
• Work cohesively with the Director of Engineering Project Mangers and the Business Development team towards timely deliverables process improvement and valueengineering based designs

Qualifications Required:

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree a plus
• 6 years of Electrical Engineering experience in construction field is required
• 4 years of solar engineering experience required
• Experience with commercial and utilityscale BESS designs is a plus
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certified. PE license is a plus
• NABCEP certification required
• Be a subject matter expert in solar layout design stringing calculations conductor sizing PV system equipment selection and system grounding principles
• Strong knowledge of industrystandard software including PVSyst 5 years of AutoCAD experience and other applicable industry software as well as MS Office suite
• Detail oriented professional with strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects
• Valid drivers license
