Job Overview: The Senior Systems Engineer will play a critical role in monitoring and troubleshooting system hardware and software ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills particularly in Linux
environments along with excellent communication abilities and a proactive approach to problemsolving. This position schedule is night shifts on a twoweek cycle totaling 84 hours from 6PM EST to 6:00AM Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday (12hour
shifts).

Job Duties:

• Perform systems troubleshooting including hardware and software with a focus on Linux environments.
• Utilize analysis capabilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
• Ability to lead small team of personnel directing and providing meaningful guidance ande maintaining schedules as required.
• Troubleshooting network issue and escalating as required.
• Ability to read a variety of graphs of systems information and interpret them to discern correct operations
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Familiarity with tools such as Rancher Ansible Elastic Search Redis Solr Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor operating systems and applications identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
• Troubleshoot data flow and network issues escalating complex problems as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers providing clear and concise updates on system status and issues.
• Generate metrics and reports using disparate data sources for submission to customers.

Qualifications:

• Availability to work night shifts on a twoweek cycle totaling 84 hours from 6PM EST to 6:00AM Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday (12hour shifts).
• Proficiency in systems troubleshooting including hardware and software with expertise in Linux environments.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Java Ruby Python or Bash.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Nagios Grafana and Prometheus.
• Familiarity with RTRG Mission analytics operation and use.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to dissect complex issues and generate concise accurate status updates.
• Experience generating SOPs for system maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead and provide meaningful guidance to teammates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Alternatively four (4) years of additional Software Engineering (SWE) experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
