Internal Strategy & M&A Consultant

Secil is a major Portuguese cement producer with a strong position in foreign markets such as Tunisia, Lebanon, Brazil, and others. In addition to the production and commercialization of cement, Secil is also present in the building materials market, namely in the area of concrete, aggregates, mortars and prefabricated structures.

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work at the Strategy and Business Development Department at Secil Group.

At Secil, the Strategy and Business Development Department includes both the Transformation Office and a M&A cell. This role will be focused in both areas: the Transformation Office (STRAT), which is responsible for leading major cross-functional projects, guaranteeing the alignment between top management teams in the different businesses areas and the Board of Directors, and M&A, which is responsible for delivering an ambitious inorganic growth strategy until 2025.

As an Internal Strategy & M&A Consultant, you will support both Project Managers and Project Teams from different improvement areas (e.g., Innovation, Commercial Excellence, Procurement, ...), helping them problem- solving and structuring the implementation of key initiatives in their respective areas. In addition to that, you will support the Strategy team as a whole, being deployed in major growth projects such as M&A.

The Strategy & Business Development team is small and acts very closely to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Currently, the team is composed of 3 consultants plus the Director, who reports directly to the Group CEO, but the team is expected to expand with new M&A opportunities.

Location:Portugal with flex-work rules and occasional international travels to visit the country operations.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Business Management or Engineering;
• Top academic credentials;
• Previous Corporate or Strategy Consulting experience;
• Previous experience in managing and implementing projects;
• Fluency in Portuguese and English;
• Proficient with MS Office;
• Open to International career opportunities.

Key Skills:

• Experience of, at least, 2-4 years as Strategy Consultant (mainly M&A projects);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to handle complex, sensitive issues;
• Demonstrated track record managing multiple priorities; project management experience required;
• Experience in dealing with Due Diligences and strategic assessment for portfolio acquisitions is a plus;
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative attitude, with interest and aptitude for working as part of a global team, across countries and cultures;
• Strong personal presence and credibility, with the ability to work across all levels of seniority and geographies, cultivating trust-based, peer-counsel or relationships;
• Highly resilient, with an action-oriented style; comfort and credibility in challenging discussions with senior colleagues, balancing robustness, persistence, flexibility, humility, tact, and calmness under pressure;
• Outstanding Portuguese and English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing skills.
