Position: General Manager Community Ice Center
Location: Glenview IL 60026
Positon Type: Direct hire full time
Onsite: yes 5 days a week availability to be onsite some weekends/evenings for events etc.
Compensation: $100000 $110000/yr

Schedule: Daily schedule will vary based on facility hours of operation which will include nights and weekends based on program and facility needs
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing and operating Community Ice Center including facility grounds equipment mechanicals programming (figure skating hockey broomball public skate office training martial arts) rentals and relationships with support organizations as well as vendors for the pro shop and food and beverage operations. Accountable for profit & loss of all financial areas and business plans. Responsible for a budget of approximately $2.7 million. Direct supervisory responsibility for Manager of Program Services Facility & Operations Supervisor Full Time Tradesworker part time maintenance staff and night/weekend supervisor (MOD). Indirect responsibility for 4 FT employees and many PT employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelors degree in parks & recreation business administration or related field required. Will consider significant and material experience in lieu of formal education.
- Experience: At least 5 years of related experience preferably in the area of facility or program management. Supervisory experience required.
- Certifications / Memberships: CPRP or similar certification in recreation preferred. Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable.
- Licenses: Valid Illinois drivers license required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Significant knowledge skills and ability related to ice sports required.
- Ability to skate or otherwise walk on ice required.
- Knowledge of ice center management including all aspects of business.
- Strong business acumen outstanding communication skills exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Skills in math and basic finance; ability to understanding budgeting and fiscal concepts.
- Strong sales and customer service skills required.
- Ability to handle large events / crowd management; ability to remain calm in occasional stressful situations and diffuse conflict.
- Sufficient mechanical aptitude in order to be on call and troubleshoot facility mechanical issues required.
- Knowledge and skills with computers and software (Outlook Word and Excel).
- Ability to learn additional software and systems required for business transactions.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply Americans with Disabilities Act to business situations.
- Ability to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends as required.
