Environmental Specialist
Location: Denville, NJ

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability within our large, union manufacturing plant. As an Environmental Specialist, you will report directly to the Plant EHS Manager and collaborate with the site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to drive environmental management systems and maintain adherence to permits and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant plant environmental experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in air, water, and waste compliance/permitting activities.
  • Proven ability to implement and drive environmental management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.

Essential Duties:
  • Compliance Assurance: Develop and maintain robust processes and systems to ensure strict compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Coach and mentor line personnel in understanding and executing their environmental responsibilities, fostering a culture of environmental awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Compile and submit accurate and timely environmental reports to Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Agencies, ensuring all documentation is complete and meets regulatory standards.
  • Environmental Sampling and Monitoring: Coordinate all environmental sampling activities, ensuring samples are collected, analyzed, and documented according to established protocols. Follow up on results and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Recordkeeping: Prepare, organize, and maintain all required environmental reports and associated records to facilitate audits and inspections. Ensure records are up-to-date, well-organized, and readily accessible.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
