Database Migration Specialist
Experience 3 to 6 years
Location Chennai (hybrid)
Must have
Experience with Database migration.
Experience with SQL Server.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop database solutions that meet business requirements. This is typically the responsibility of a database developer.
Create and maintain SQL scripts and stored procedures for data manipulation and retrieval. This is typically the responsibility of a database administrator.
Optimize database performance through query tuning indexing and other techniques. This is typically the responsibility of a database performance engineer.
Design and implement data migration plans and strategies. This includes assessing the source and target databases identifying the data that needs to be migrated and developing a plan to migrate the data in a safe and efficient manner.
Use ETL tools and techniques to migrate data between different database platforms. This may involve using thirdparty ETL tools or developing custom ETL solutions.
Cleanse and transform data to ensure its accuracy and consistency before it is migrated. This may involve removing duplicate data correcting errors and converting data to the appropriate format for the target database.
Test and validate migrated data to ensure data integrity. This may involve running queries against the migrated data to compare it to the source data and identifying any discrepancies.
Work with stakeholders to identify and resolve data migration issues. This may involve working with business analysts developers and testers to understand the business requirements and ensure that the data migration is successful.
Document data migration processes and procedures. This includes creating documentation that describes the steps involved in the data migration process the tools and techniques used and the tests performed to validate the migrated data.
Developing and maintaining data migration infrastructure. This may involve setting up and configuring servers database software and ETL tools.
Automating data migration tasks. This may involve using scripting languages or developing custom automation tools.
Monitoring data migration performance and troubleshooting issues. This may involve using monitoring tools to identify and resolve any problems that occur during the data migration process.
