Building Controls Engineer

This role will focus on the design and review of building management/automation systems with a primary focus on controls for HVAC systems. As a Building Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of building controls systems as well as testing or commissioning, upgrades, and conversions of existing building control systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design new and retrofit HVAC and/or automation / control systems.
  
• Collaborate with HVAC design engineers to understand the system components and controls needs.
  
• Consult with clients and building owners to understand the building needs and any control systems issues or challenges.
  
• Perform construction administration for controls projects, including contractor, owner and client coordination, site surveys and punch lists for systems designs.
  
• Participate in RFIs, design and submittal reviews.
  
• Interface with clients, owners and contractors at meetings.
  
• Perform other duties as required.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study from an ABET accredited college or university.
  
• 2-5 years of experience with the design of mechanical / HVAC and/or automatic temperature control systems.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  
• Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
  
• Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.
