Job Summary
Must haves:
- 6-8 months recent machinery band saws automatic welding machines.
- Ability to use and understand tape measures. Use of Gauges for quality checks
- 6-8 months experience in mechanical background
Responsibilities:
- Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
- Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.
- Follow safety precautions for fabricating cutting assembling stacking and shipping pipe.
- Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and Ferguson procedures.
- Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
- Measure record and add random pipe lengths accurately.
- Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
- Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.
- Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.
Qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard.
- Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe (training provided).
- Results-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of reading a tape measure accurately.
- Good computer skills for automated machinery.
- 6-8 months recent experience with machinery such as pipe threaders band saws roll groove machines plasma cutting automatic welding machines and pneumatic banders.
- Ability to sort/shift pipe ranging from to 10.
- Preferred experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).
