What you can expect to work on The Test Engineer executes system-level integration validation and operational readiness activities that directly impact component integrity system performance reliability and commissioning outcomes. This role defines requirements for new test and integration equipment and supports the design layout fabrication and validation of custom tooling and test systems. The Test Engineer applies technical judgment to support product development manufacturing operations laboratory infrastructure and continuous system performance improvements. - Integrate mechanical electrical vacuum cooling shielding and related subsystems into fully functional systems and assemblies
- Support system commissioning including validation performance verification data analysis and documentation of results
- Perform technical analysis calculations and evaluation of operating conditions to assess system performance and compliance with specifications
- Troubleshoot system-level issues and contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions to improve reliability and performance
- Maintain calibrate and ensure readiness of test and integration equipment
- Conduct tests and experiments to improve existing products systems and related infrastructure and support development of new capabilities

- Application of general industrial safety procedures and practices
- Technical writing
- Non-routine non-production manufacturing or technical environment.
- Integrating mechanical and electrical subsystems into operational equipment or technical systems
- Supporting and executing system-level testing validation troubleshooting or commissioning activities
Great to have - 7 years of relevant technical experience in a prototype test manufacturing or laboratory environment
- Formal training/application of Project Management
- Working knowledge of electrical systems
- Experience with:
- Vacuum systems and leak detection
- Cooling systems and laboratory infrastructure systems
- Equipment and tools associated with chemistry and/or radioactive processes
- Working in cleanroom or controlled environments
Other things to know - Full-time position
- Niowaves standard operating hours are Monday Friday 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- This position will have regular working hours Monday Friday with an expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirements
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
