Over 10 years later that startup acquired what was left of Polaroid and today were again a small group of people passionate about empowering creators to change the world in the name of Polaroid.

Job summary:

Responsible for the electrical and hardware design of Polaroid instant film analog camera systems including schematics PCB layout guidance prototyping testing debugging validation and system integration.

You will collaborate closely with Product Management Industrial Design Marketing Product Development teams and external engineering partners to deliver reliable high-quality hardware solutions that meet cost schedule safety and regulatory requirements.

This role plays a key part throughout the full product development lifecycle from feasibility studies and prototype validation to mass production including root cause analysis EMI/EMC optimization and evaluation of new hardware technologies and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems modules and subsystems for analog camera products.

  • Define and drive camera electrical architecture interfaces and power delivery solutions.

  • Create schematics for sensors power supplies wireless connectivity and high-speed I/O interfaces.

  • Support prototyping board bring-up testing debugging and performance characterization.

  • Conduct board-level validation data analysis failure analysis and design optimization throughout development and production phases.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define validation plans test cases and ensure successful system integration across hardware firmware and mechanical design.

  • Work closely with external partners CMs and ODM suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturing and mass production.

  • Ensure products meet quality reliability safety regulatory EMI/EMC and industry compliance standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support engineering root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Research evaluate and develop new hardware platforms and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering or related field.

  • 510 years of hands-on experience in electrical hardware design preferably within camera imaging or consumer electronics products.

  • Strong expertise in component selection schematic design PCB design and simulation tools.

  • Experience with MCU embedded systems FPGA integration and control interface circuit design.

  • Knowledge of analog camera systems optics ranging sensors strobe systems and wireless modules.

  • Experience with EMI/EMC solutions and system-level validation.

  • Skilled with hardware evaluation and debugging equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in failure analysis and data-driven optimization.

  • Excellent collaboration communication and documentation skills.

  • Passion for photography and interest in camera technologies.

  • Knowledge of CMOS image sensors ISP image processing MATLAB JMP or similar tools is a plus.
