COMMERCIAL SALES LEAD (STARLINK MOBILE)
SpaceX is developing a new satellite-to-mobile network to bring ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide via the Starlink constellation. We are partnering with telecommunication companies around the world to bring this service directly from satellites to mobile phones with the goal of providing coverage anywhere a phone can see the sky.
Starlink was designed to connect the disconnected and this new product will greatly expand that mission by extending coverage to billions of existing cellular devices. The applications range from connecting hikers in national parks emergency responders rural communities remote sensors and devices and people in emergency situations. The Commercial Sales team is hiring a Sales Lead to support our teams efforts to expand Starlink Mobile globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage in customer inquiries qualify leads and conduct pre-sales discussions
- Manage the sales processes for a subset of customers and be responsible for customer follow ups provision of necessary documentation (proposals NDAs etc) and ensuring account status in our customer database
- Own and implement specific sales process improvement projects that enable exponential sales growth by collaborating with stakeholders across engineering business and regulatory teams
- Create compelling communications materials in support of our efforts to increase access to space and our position as an industry leader Support the team in their sales efforts including customer onsite visits offsite meetings conferences and other sales events
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM or business discipline
- 2 years of enterprise sales experience pre-sales engineering operations or experience working in the telecommunications industry
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with NTN and satellite-based telecommunications
- Independently motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of project ownership
- Bias toward action and automation
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills preferably in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly with senior business leaders
- Demonstrated success driving tangible impact/influencing within a broader organization
- Strong knowledge of Starlinks network infrastructure launch vehicles and the telecommunications industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly detail oriented diligent and hard working with excellent customer interface skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is based in Hawthorne CA and requires being onsite remote work not considered
- Willingness to travel to customer sites other SpaceX locations and events as needed
- Available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support closing sales opportunities
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Sales Operations Lead: $90000 - $125000/per year
Your actual level and base salary will bedeterminedon a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
