Job Summary

Facility Maintenance Lead

The Facility Maintenance Lead is a hands-on maintenance professional responsible for the operation troubleshooting repair and preventative maintenance of facility equipment within a temperature-controlled warehouse environment. This role requires strong experience with ammonia refrigeration systems building systems electrical mechanical and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is polished self-driven safety-focused and experienced in industrial cold storage or food-grade environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems air compressors electrical systems piping dock equipment doors lighting racking and material handling equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain refrigeration equipment engine rooms sprinkler systems water systems and related controls to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities and maintain accurate work orders and records within Limble CMMS.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility equipment and systems to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance including documentation updates and adherence to OSHA FDA and EPA standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for repairs service and facility projects.
  • Maintain maintenance logs safety records SOPs and compliance documentation.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain compliance with all company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with facility improvement initiatives focused on safety efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Support operational needs including overtime weekends and emergency maintenance when required.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of hands-on facility maintenance experience in industrial cold storage or food-grade environments.
  • Strong ammonia refrigeration experience is required.
  • Experience with PSM and RMP programs preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical mechanical hydraulic and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as Limble preferred.
  • CARO or CIRO certification is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable working in cold storage temperatures ranging to -20F.
  • Ability to climb ladders work at heights and work in varying warehouse conditions.
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record and comply with all company safety and substance screening requirements
