The Electronics Specialist Supervisor provides management and supervision of all Electronics shop functions and staff members including recordkeeping coordinating and scheduling installations testing repairs and maintenance of County fire alarm notification systems card access systems intrusion alarms data/fiber cabling and CCTV monitoring.
Essential Functions:

Creates schedules and coordinates Fire Alarm system maintenance testing and repairs;
Manages and supervises Electronics Specialist staff including performance management timekeeping and scheduling;
Performs review of data and fiber installation for new construction and remodeling submittals;
Maintains records of Electronics shop duties and functions using Microsoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook);
Assigns and programs card access;
Coordinates and schedules Electronic shop work orders;
Creates cost estimates for Electronics shop projects;
Provides feedback and/or recommendations for new and/or upgrades to County electronics systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship in the electronics field (Electronics Technician Industrial Electronics Telecommunications or similar) appropriate to assigned duties AND six years of journey-level electronics experience INCLUDING two years of supervisory experience.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
OR:
Four years of experience with Pima County as an Electronics Specialist I or II Trades Maintenance Specialist II or related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment INCLUDING one year of lead or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
Minimum five (5) years experience maintaining installing upgrading modifying and programming access control systems.
Minimum five (5) years experience constructing and repairing analog and digital telecommunication systems including CCTV camera systems intercom public address computer LAN and A/V systems.
Minimum five (5) years installing inspecting testing and servicing fire alarm systems using current NFPA standards.
Minimum four (4) years of supervisory experience in construction facility management and/or an electronic specialty.

Licenses and Certificates:Valid driver license isat time of application.ValidAZdriver license isat time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review todetermineapplicants suitability tooperatecounty vehiclesin accordance withPima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain andmaintainthe required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record.Maintains active (NICET) Level 1 Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems Certification required at time of application or appointment. Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or appointment. Some positions require a valid Arizona commercial driver license (CDL) with appropriate endorsement(s) at the time of appointment or prior to completion of an initial/promotional probation period. Positions requiring a CDL are also subject to applicable State of Arizona and federal standards rules and regulations on physical requirements including drug and alcohol testing. Failure to obtain/maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items: Ability to obtain jail pass is required. The Countyrequirespre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history education and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Physical/Sensory Requirements: Post-job offer physical required. Some positions require the ability to: lift and carry up to seventy-five pounds; safely operate assigned vehicles and other powered equipment; work in extremes of heat humidity dust cold; safely wear required safety clothing/equipment; work with on in the presence of obnoxious odors; work with noxious or potentially hazardous chemicals compounds or products; ascend and descend ladders and stairs to reach and work upon elevated or below-grade work platforms and job sites; differentiate between colors. Action Activity - bending climbing kneeling reaching squatting stooping; Motion Activity - grasping; Hearing Activity - in a noisy areas on a radio behind themselves equipment alarms; Speaking Activity - in person on the phone on the radio; Vision - operate a motor vehicle may be required to get a CDL operate a forklift/power industrial equipment distinguish colors have depth perception and peripheral vision. Frequently required to lift push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions: Position requires on-call hours. Occasionally performs duties at correctional facility/detention centers and other high secure areas. Other working conditions will be determined by position.
