To learn more about why great people choose to work atAZA United please visit: are currently lookingfor a full-timePAYROLL AND PAYMENTS SPECIALIST.The mission of the Payroll and Payments Specialist position is to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and payments for employees and independent contractors.Additionally the Specialist would be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant policies procedures and regulations. Common tasks will include but not be limited to updating payroll records preparing and processing semi-monthly payroll and tracking garnishments. The Payroll and Payments Specialist serves as a key liaison between the organization and its employees as well as with independent contractors ensuring clear communication and efficient transaction processing.

LOCATION:90% remote 10% in-office (You must reside in Maricopa County)
PAY:(Starting Range) $25-$29/hourly (based on experience) participate in ourScheduled Raise Programup to2x/year
SCHEDULE:Monday-Friday/40 hours a week

Regular Job Duties
Payroll:
Accurately process payroll for employees including calculating wages overtime bonuses and deductions.
Ensure timely and accurate distribution of payroll on a semi-monthly basis using Paylocity software.
Maintain and update payroll records in compliance with AZA policies and procedures and federal state and local regulations.
Prepare reportsof earnings taxes deductions leave disability and nontaxable wages.
Accurately processpayments to independent contractors on a semi-monthly basis.
Run reports and verify accuracy of data in preparation of payroll.
Verify 1099 and W-2 accuracy.
General:
Update and maintain accurate records with precise attention to detail.
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
Perform related tasks and projects as needed.
Experience & Qualifications:
- G.E.D. or HS Diploma required
- Three years of payroll experience
- Experience working with payroll software
- Human services behavioral health care or non-profit experience a plus
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft products (Word Excel Outlook Teams) and experience working in multiple online systems
- Experience in a role that required a high degree of confidentiality
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card provide proof of a valid drivers license insurance registrationand meet all other hiring requirements during onboarding
