Primary Purpose: Computer Technicians provide on-site hardware and software support for ECISDs desktop and mobile computer systems and electronic devices.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program
• Degrees and certifications preferred not required.

Special Knowledge Skills:

• Logical troubleshooting skills.
• Leadership abilities and/or experience.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-taught.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment. Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of computer systems software and networks - including but not limited to Microsoft operating systems software and networks.
• Knowledge of software and software install and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of computer peripherals including printer installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to multitask.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in computer support or related field.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide customer service and support.
• Troubleshoot computer hardware replace parts setup and move systems and printers as required.
• Install and troubleshoot computer software and operating systems.
• Imaging / OS deployment; Interactive whiteboard support.
• Projectors support and routine maintenance. Basic network troubleshooting and support.
• Work documentation and inventory records keeping.
• Teamwork participation in projects as required.
• Verbal and written communication with I.T. personnel and ECISD staff. Identify and provide solutions based on staff input.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
