Maintenance Technician

MalaceHR is seeking a dependable and hands-on General Maintenance Mechanic / Handyman to support the day-to-day facility operations of a distribution center environment. This role will work closely with the sites Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine inspections preventative maintenance activities minor repairs vendor coordination and general facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate will possess strong handyman skills a customer-service mindset and the ability to safely perform a variety of maintenance-related tasks while ensuring minimal disruption to facility operations.

While this position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule candidates must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate occasional client operational needs.

• Assist the site Maintenance Mechanic with regularly scheduled and on-demand maintenance activities.
• Complete facility compliance and regulatory inspections ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed maintained and filed.
• Perform or assist with preventative maintenance tasks and coordinate specialized work with qualified third-party vendors when necessary.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs and facility improvement projects including:
  • Basic plumbing repairs
  • Basic electrical repairs
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Carpentry and general handyman work
• Coordinate escort and oversee approved vendors and contractors while they are performing work within the facility.
• Serve as a point of contact for service providers and communicate work schedules to affected client personnel.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently with minimal disruption to facility operations.
• Provide advance written communication and notifications to operations leadership and impacted employees regarding maintenance activities.
• Demonstrate proper use care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all client and company safety policies including PPE requirements and safe work practices.
• Respond professionally and promptly to maintenance requests and customer inquiries.
• Assist with small facility projects as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as requested by management.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general building maintenance facilities maintenance or handyman-related work.
• Experience performing basic troubleshooting and repairs involving:
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical equipment
  • Carpentry
• Ability to safely operate ladders hand tools power tools drain augers and other maintenance equipment.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written instructions diagrams schedules and verbal direction.

• Experience working in industrial warehouse manufacturing or distribution center environments.
• Experience coordinating with outside contractors and service vendors.
• Familiarity with facility inspection and compliance documentation processes.

• Ability to stand walk bend kneel climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely around facility equipment and machinery.
• Ability to perform maintenance activities in both office and warehouse environments.
