Job Summary

Job Purpose

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Recruiter to lead our talent acquisition efforts. Unlike traditional corporate roles your goal is to find professionals who are not only technically skilled but also deeply aligned with our mission of Insert NGO Mission e.g. sustainable education / climate action. You will be the face of our organization ensuring we attract the heart and mind talent required to drive social change.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mission-Centric Sourcing & Strategy

  • Develop and execute end-to-end recruitment strategies for non-IT roles including Program Managers Field Coordinators Fundraising Officers and Advocacy Specialists.
  • Build a robust pipeline of passive candidates within the development sector civil society and international NGOs.
  • Leverage social media (LinkedIn Twitter) and niche NGO job boards (e.g. ReliefWeb Devex DevNet) to reach diverse talent.

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Program Heads to understand the unique on-ground requirements of field-based roles.
  • Educate hiring managers on market trends salary benchmarks in the non-profit sector and best practices for inclusive hiring.

3. Screening & Cultural Assessment

  • Conduct behavioral interviews to assess a candidates value-alignment and soft skills like empathy resilience and adaptability to resource-constrained environments.
  • Manage the full lifecycle from initial screening to final negotiation and onboarding.

4. Employer Branding & DEI

  • Promote our NGOs impact to potential candidates positioning us as an employer of choice in the social sector.
  • Drive Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure our workforce reflects the communities we serve.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Masters degree in HR Social Work Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of core recruitment experience with at least 2-3 years specifically focused on the NGO/Development sector.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the non-profit landscape including donor-funded projects and the nuances of field-based operations.
