Job Title: Surgical Technologist (OR General & Surgical Services)
Location: Falmouth MA 02540 Duration: 13 Weeks Schedule: 40 Hours/Week
Shifts: 7:15 AM 3:45 PM or 9:30 AM 6:00 PM
Rotating weekends weekday and holiday on-call required
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support a variety of surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role works under the direct supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse to ensure a safe sterile and efficient surgical setting while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the operating room ensuring all instruments equipment and sterile supplies are ready for procedures
Maintain strict adherence to infection control policies and sterile techniques in accordance with AORN standards
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments holding retractors cutting sutures and managing sterile supplies
Perform surgical counts (sponges needles instruments) with accuracy
Prepare handle and label specimens for laboratory analysis
Assist with patient positioning transport and transfer to recovery
Ensure availability of case-specific instruments and equipment per surgeon preference cards
Operate and maintain surgical equipment including lights suction and sterilization systems
Assist with room turnover and restocking between procedures
Support medication preparation under RN and surgeon direction
Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Participate in staff meetings training and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (civilian or military)
NBSTSA Certification (required and must be maintained)
BLS Certification (required)
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures sterile techniques and infection control standards
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented high-pressure environment
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
