An exciting opportunity exists for a Field Officer to join Sustainability Management Services (SMS) in the designated district of Suhum. This role offers hands-on involvement in implementing sustainability and rural development programmes within cocoa-growing communities. The successful candidate will support programme execution at the district level supervise field activities coordinate farmer training initiatives and contribute to strengthening sustainable agricultural practices in a dynamic and impact-driven environment.
The Field Officer will work closely with the Regional Manager Field Trainers Farm Supervisors Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) technical officers research institutions franchise holders and other key stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of SMS programme objectives. The role also involves managing district work plans overseeing specialized farmer programmes such as VSLA and alternative livelihood initiatives coordinating certification and verification audits and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Administrative responsibilities include preparing weekly reports and safeguarding assigned company assets.
Requirements:
A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture Business Economics Development or a related field with at least one (1) year of relevant work experience preferably in rural development or smallholder farmer engagement. A Certificate in Agriculture will be an added advantage. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) strong project and time management skills and solid analytical and leadership capabilities. Excellent communication skills fluency in English and a local language and the ability to work independently in rural and remote settings are essential. Practical experience managing donor-funded programmes and developing pragmatic solutions within a developing country context will be highly advantageous. Candidate should be living in or around Suhum.
