Job Summary

SUMMARY

The Finance Clerk will assist the finance department with all administrative and clerical duties pertaining to the accounts payable and receivable to meet the needs of the organizations financial operations.

DUTIES

  • Maintain a well-organized accounts payable system
  • Invoice and payment processing on a timely basis ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with Keewaytinook Okimakanak policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • General journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of the purchase order system matching to invoice closing and following up on outstanding open POs
  • Liaise with all KO Departments and Vendors as it relates to Accounts Payable
  • Perform office duties such as photocopying faxing and filing.
  • Provide back up to any other finance position when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in regard to funding and department revenues accounts receivable and cash receipts
  • Process AR invoices credit notes and adjustments accurately and timely
  • Enter all receipts and bank deposits
  • Monthly Statements prepared and distributed to customers
  • Reconciling AR Sub-ledger to GL Control Account
  • Collections and Customer Follow Up
  • Maintain good customer relations
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable Filing System
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Age Requirement: Youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period and can be up to 30 years old at the end of the employment period provided they were 30 at the start.
  2. Must be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or be granted refugee protection in Canada. As per Canada Summer Jobs funding guidelines.
  3. Must possess a valid Social Insurance Number.
  4. Ability to speak/write Cree Oji-Cree or Ojibway is a very strong asset along with a demonstrated competence in written and oral English.
  5. Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the First Nation communities Keewaytinook Okimakanak serves is an asset.

The hourly wage for this position is $17.60
