Overview
Clifton-Fine Hospital is seeking a dependable and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Rehabilitation Services team on a Per Diem basis. This role provides flexibility while supporting patient care needs in our outpatient setting.
The PTA works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver treatment monitor patient progress and contribute to high-quality patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments following the Physical Therapists Plan of Care (POC)
- Monitor and report patient progress to the supervising PT
- Communicate effectively with patients families and care team members
- Document all treatments and patient interactions in the EMR
- Enter charges accurately in the EMR system
- Review medical records to support safe and effective care
- Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills
- Complete required continuing education per New York State guidelines (36 hours every 3 years)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)
- Current New York State PTA license/registration (required)
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying patient volumes
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work with patients with varying physical and mental health conditions
- Exposure to communicable diseases body fluids and infectious materials
- Ability to lift and assist patients (up to 50 lbs.)
- Frequent standing walking bending stooping reaching pushing and pulling
- Physically and mentally demanding environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and perform repetitive tasks
