Job Summary

Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Specialist needs 2-3 years experience

Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Specialist requires:

  • A.S. degree in Environmental Engineering Chemical Engineering Safety Industrial Hygiene or related physical sciences preferred.
  • Familiarity with NYS DEC OSHA and EPA requirements; experienced in incident investigation risk assessment and corrective action planning.
  • Strong organizational troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion independently.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders; capable of promoting a strong safety culture and accountability at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred certifications include EPA Hazardous Waste DOT Hazardous Materials OSHA (10/30-hour) and ISO ( 50001); experience in chemical manufacturing or industrial environments

Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Specialist duties:

  • Ensure compliance with SHE training deliver sessions as needed and actively support the site Emergency Response Team.
  • Enforce adherence to programs such as Lockout/Tagout Machine Guarding Industrial Hygiene Working at Heights and Emergency Response.
  • Promote Behavior-Based Safety monitor participation report key SHE metrics and conduct recurring compliance inspections.
  • Perform daily inspections assess hazards for new/modified operations investigate incidents support root cause analysis and develop CAPAs.
  • Issue safe work permits train and monitor contractors support waste management documentation and collaborate with teams to maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
