What Youll Be Doing:
- Develop and manage training programs for shipyard industrial trades (welding electrical pipefitting rigging etc.)
- Deliver hands-on and classroom training including onboarding and refresher courses
- Ensure compliance with OSHA NAVSEA and contract requirements
- Maintain training schedules curricula and qualification tracking systems
- Track and report training metrics certifications and workforce readiness
- Design and update training materials SOPs and work instructions
- Evaluate trainee performance and implement feedback and remediation plans
- Support audits by maintaining accurate audit-ready training records
- Partner with Operations Safety HR and Quality teams to identify skill gaps and training needs
What Youll Need to Succeed:
Minimum:
- 5 years of experience in a shipyard manufacturing or industrial trades environment
- 2 years of experience in training workforce development or instruction
- Strong knowledge of industrial trades (mechanical electrical welding etc.)
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and industrial safety practices
- Experience delivering both hands-on and classroom training
- Strong communication organization and program management skills
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Navy/DoD shipyard or federal contracting environments
- Training certifications (OSHA trainer NCCER or equivalent)
- Knowledge of NAVSEA standards and shipyard processes
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
