Job Summary:

This is a summer student position; applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution. The student labourer is an entry level position reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The labourer must have the ability to learn and have a strong work ethic. The labourer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection sortation and general yard maintenance as the safety standards of Gerdau the labourer performs general maintenance duties. The labourer must have strong communication skills and always use them to ensure safety among co-workers truck drivers peddlers and contractors.This is a summer position only beginning in early May 2026 throughto theend of August 2026. Typical work weekwill beMonday through to Friday.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow all the established Gerdau safety environmental and routine procedures specific to the yard
2. Assist in the daily operations and maintenance.
3. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion
4. General house-keeping duties: sweep shop area and removal of garbage
5. Assist co-workers in general operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety efficiency and profitability
6. Problem solving input and contributions as required
7. Provide excellent customer service
8. Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau

Qualifications and Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older and enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

• Salary: $22.00 per hour
• Ability to commute/relocate: - London ON - reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
