Under general direction the incumbent oversees the Districts after-school and enrichment programs including the KidSpace program (AM/PM Early Childhood Enrichment summer camps and breaks) and 21st Century Community Learning Center grants. This role provides leadership and supervision to program staff manages budgets develops educational programming and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. The incumbent also researches secures and manages grant funding writes proposals and reports and collaborates with district leadership and external partners to deliver high-quality services that meet student and family needs.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the implementation of the WESD 21st Century Community Learning Center grants/After-school academies and special grant funded after school opportunities.
Helps plan and deliver ongoing professional development for program leaders entry-level staff and ASP staff members.
Works to develop teacher leaders through professional development and individual support as needed.
Seeks and secures new funding to support innovative after school learning opportunities.
Writes and edits grant proposals annual reports and grant announcement. Coordinates with Human Resources with job postings rates of pay and pay procedures.
Researches available grant programs and other additional funding sources and reviews past grant proposals to support the needs of the District. Collaborates with administrators and principals to identify needs. Provides recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent on grant opportunities the district should pursue and submit proposals for.
Supervises departmental staff including determining workloads establishing work schedules monitoring work performance recommending new hires and terminations training on accounting procedures providing staff development programs conducting performance evaluations resolving staff conflicts and interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
Works to provide program support to KidSpace KidSpace ECE and the WESD Enrichment programs by responding as needed to parent concerns staffing issues and helps to evaluate program delivery.
Helps develop the Academic Support Programs budget. Helps manage budgets associated with after-school programs including following district budgeting process and grants requirements making staffing decisions and recommending additional funding.
Works collaboratively with District administrators and other staff regarding the implementation of grant programs and coordination with other resources. Evaluates grant programs and makes recommendations to ensure needs are being met by the programs.
Serves as a liaison to coordinate programs with all ancillary agencies. Collaborates with schools and departments to deliver services to students and families.
Ensures that all programs procedures and practices comply with federal state city and agency regulations. Ensures all reporting is accurate and submits reports to fulfill appropriate requirements.
Assists Human Resources in creating job descriptions and employment procedures for all after-school programs
Performs other supervisory duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position an applicant must meet the following required addition verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
BA degree in education or related field
Experience in implementing 21st Century Grant programs
Four years of administering after-school programs
Experience in project management
Experience in grant writing
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
Valid Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate.
