Position Summary:

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our post-acute inpatient rehabilitation this role you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide therapeutic recreation that supports our patients in achieving their highest level of functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement therapeutic recreational programs tailored to individual patient needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create holistic patient care plans.
• Monitor and document patient progress adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Recreational Therapy.
• Experience: At least one year ofexperience in a rehabilitation setting is required; internship experience with a concentration in rehabilitation is preferred.
• Certification: Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with patients staff and visitors courteously and tactfully.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds.
• Capability to push/pull non-motorized equipment over 50 pounds.
• Comfort with transferring patients and using proper body mechanics for patient assistance.

Work Environment:

The role is primarily based in a clinical setting with occasional opportunities to attend events or activities off-campus.

Salary Range: Minimum $32.00/hour - Maximum $32.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
