Job Summary

Job Title: Cytotechnologist (Cyto Tech)

Location: New York NY

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join a high-volume laboratory team. This role involves microscopic evaluation of cellular samples to detect abnormalities support diagnostic accuracy and contribute to patient care decisions. The Cytotech will work closely with pathologists and laboratory staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic examination of cytology specimens to identify cellular abnormalities.
  • Prepare screen and evaluate slides following laboratory protocols.
  • Assist in diagnostic processes by identifying suspicious or abnormal findings for pathologist review.
  • Ensure accuracy quality control and adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting of findings.
  • Follow all safety regulatory and laboratory compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with pathology and lab teams to support diagnostic workflows.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Day shift MondayFriday (7:00 AM 3:00 PM)
  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours
  • Contract Duration: 26 weeks

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician License
  • Eligibility under NYS Clinical Laboratory Licensing regulations

Preferred:

  • Histotechnician or Histotechnologist License
  • NYS Pathologists Assistant License
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
  • 12 years of laboratory experience
