Job Summary
Job Title: Diagnostic Tech
Location: Hyannis MA
Job Type: Contract (Travel/Local)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule:
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 11:00 AM 11:30 PM
- Every other weekend and holiday required
Compensation
- Travel Rate: $44 $47/hour ($1518 $1621/week) based on experience
- Local Rate: $34 $37/hour ($1172 $1276/week) based on experience
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Tech to support both laboratory specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate diagnostics and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other specimens; ensure proper labeling and transport to the laboratory
- Positively identify patients and explain procedures prior to specimen collection
- Educate patients on proper specimen collection techniques
- Perform non-invasive cardiac testing including EKGs Holter monitors and stress tests
- Ensure all required lab documentation is completed at the time of service
- Research and verify unusual or complex test requests using available resources
- Accurately document patient data in hospital systems and departmental logs
- Complete cardiac test orders and billing documentation as required
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT) required
- EKG Certification required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
