The Catering Operations Assistant supports the planning coordination and execution of catering events. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations by assisting with logistics client communication inventory management and on-site event support. The ideal candidate is organized detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The hours range by season.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating catering events from initial booking through execution
Support communication between clients kitchen staff vendors and delivery teams
Help prepare event schedules setup plans and staffing requirements
Track inventory of food beverages and catering supplies; report shortages
Assist with packing loading and organizing equipment for events
Provide on-site support during events (setup service coordination breakdown)
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Handle administrative tasks such as order entry invoicing support and record keeping
Address last-minute changes or issues quickly and professionally
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelors preferred in hospitality or related field)
Previous experience in catering hospitality or event coordination is a plus
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
Ability to lift and move equipment (often up to 3050 lbs)

Work Environment:
Combination of office kitchen and event-site settings
Frequent standing walking and lifting
