Staff RN-H5A Acute Care CardiologySurgical Unit

0.9 FTE/36 hours per week

Rotating shift every other weekend

In the Acute Care Cardiology/Surgical Unit we treat patients of all ages. We specialize in treating surgical and medical patient with a wide variety of diagnosis. We are currently looking to expand our Heart Center patient population to provide medical cardiac management for children and adolescents with heart and vascular disease.

• 6 bed unithoused on an already existing surgical unit
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3
• We take care of all ages however on most days approximately 75% of our population is under the age of sixmonths.
• We are looking for detail-oriented nurses who can handle a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively as a team

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) Unit Coordinators and Allied Health personnel.
• Plans implements educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical psychological and social needs of patients and families.
• Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes participating in data collection or auditing understanding Quality Improvement and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
• Documents according to organizational standards policies and procedures.

BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire required.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

• Current CPR certification required.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP PALS ACLS APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.
