Job Summary

Academy Director - Sumter Mall Campus (Elementary & Junior Academy)

As we continue preparing for another strong year were excited to share that we will be adding an additional Academy Director at our Mall Campusbringing that campus to two Academy Directors as we prepare to serve approximately 750 scholars next year. This is a proactive investment in leadership to ensure every scholar and staff member continues to experience the high level of support that defines #The Liberty Difference.

The Director serves as the chief administrator of a campus at LSC. Leading an academy leadership team is an ideal position for an educator who possesses the necessary knowledge skills and mindsets that will allow our scholars to achieve off-the-chart results. The ideal candidate is especially committed to serving low SES and minority scholars self-reflective data-driven results-oriented mission-focused open to and actively seeks constructive feedback and is tenacious about scholar college & career readiness. LSC educators have a deep passion for instruction and are eager to gain rigorous development to help perfect their addition to participating in weekly professional development and team planning meetings all LSC educators receive consistent high-impact coaching and feedback from the network & academy leaders. Role Mission: The Academy Directorrole is for transformational school leaders who desire to change the educational landscape for thousands of children by harnessing their leadership efforts in leading an entire campus staff across three teams - instructional culture and believers and fighters committed to giving children - no matter their socioeconomic background ethnicity or neighborhood they reside in - the tools needed to reach their full potential. Reporting to the Executive Director the Academy Directorspends theday ensuring that no matter what our students are in an environment where they will develop good character be challenged academically and succeed on their road to and through college.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on LSCs core purpose to get all students into college
  • Hold high expectations for self and others to achieve and surpass intended goals
  • Lead instructional staff to improve their teaching quickly and measurably through daily observations on-the-spot coaching data conversations and effective evaluations
  • Coach and manage a group of teachers and/or school lead team members at placement schoolto achieve measurable and ambitious results
  • Achieve student outcomes aligned with 100% college & career matriculation
  • Attend trainings coaching sessions and school visits
  • Review teachers weekly internalization plans and provide feedback
  • Synthesize analyze and prioritize data and opportunities to develop strategies that achieve quantifiable goals
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and consistently reflect on past actions to guide future decisions
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify
  • Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve teacher development student achievement and manage work-related tasks
  • Support the creation and implementation of a clear and consistent behavior management system while developing students character and sense of community
  • Participate in weekly manager check-ins grade-level meetings before and after-school duties and school-wide meetings and functions
  • Minimum of 45-50hours spent at school per week
  • Must be willing to assist with weekend programmatic offerings at times.
  • Is required to attend monthly board meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Education: bachelors degreerequired; master/doctorate preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3years of successful full-time teaching experience
    • Minimum 5 years of successful full-time instructional leadership experience (principal/assistant principal or the equivalent).
    • A measured & proven track record of personally achieving success and of leading othersto improved results (Must have Sufficient Evidence to Show - Report Card Ratings etc.)
    • Valid SC Educator License Required in Elementary/Middle Level Education
    • Valid SC Principal License (Elementary or Secondary) is Required

Compensation

The salary for this position is very competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range is $ based upon experience relevant to the position.

This role is also eligible for a 10-13% performance bonusbased on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.LSC also offers a relocation stipend to defray the cost for individuals hired (if applicable).
