Waste & Sustainability Manager
About the Job
At JLL we are driving sustainability through everything that we do across all service lines and job positions. Specifically we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate from site selection to zero waste.
As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team you will support coordination of the implementation of the waste management strategy and supporting processes programs targets reports and projects to achieve scope of work delivery and goals.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Leadership
- Lead waste program strategy execution and client initiatives meeting KPI targets
- Manage project timelines budgets and deliverables with quality and professionalism
- Develop waste reporting trainings playbooks and policies
Technical Expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise in waste stewardship circular economy and industry trends
- Conduct waste audits and assessments identifying diversion opportunities
- Address Scope 3 emissions embodied carbon and regulatory compliance
Data & Performance
- Analyze and present complex waste data across multiple initiatives
- Complete client reporting in Cority and other platforms
- Monitor financial performance and track program results
Stakeholder Management
- Vet and coordinate vendors technology partners and program assets
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders on waste reduction
- Interface with industry associations and regulatory agencies
Innovation & Operations
- Support innovative strategies including zero waste certifications and reuse models
- Network cross-functionally with JLL service lines to advance sustainability objectives
- Oversee team on desktop and field projects including audits and gap analyses
- Travel locally to support portfolio program requirements
Sound like you To apply you need to be/have:
- University degree demonstrating subject matter expertise (e.g. Sustainability related degree; Environmental Engineer etc.); LEED accreditation preferred.
- TRUE Zero Waste Advisor accreditation recommended.
- Demonstrated project management experience specific to successful achievement of zero waste certifications including TRUE Zero Waste required. Other zero waste certification experience such as UL preferred.
- Knowledge of CDP GRI SASB TCFD GHG Protocol rating/ranking agencies as well as general ESG knowledge.
- Cority and Maximo experience preferred.
- Three plus years experience in the sustainable operations and/or engineering of commercial buildings with experience leading complex waste program(s)
- Strong operations experience in large multi-dimensional organization with focus on operations management productivity and embody a bias for action.
- Strong data management experience including experience and comfortability in developing and presenting consolidated reports to diverse audience from operations to C-suite.
- Strong experience specific to waste vendor systems services assets/equipment and vendor management
- Strong understanding of the impacts and opportunities dictated by varied regional geographic infrastructure related to waste processing waste-to-energy organics composting/digestion material recovery facilities. Regions include US/Canada/LATAM/APAC.
- Passionate about working towards a sustainable future.
- An excellent understanding of the key sustainability issues for corporate occupiers of real estate including but not limited to: decarbonization embodied carbon circularity resource preservation biodiversity climate risk health & wellbeing and social value creation.
- Demonstrated experience in influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with corporate clients commercial property property managers and an understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship is desirable.
- Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams.
- Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work.
- Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels.

Work Schedules:
Most account staff work full time M-F based on account needs.
Required Travel:
Travel to client Headquarters and client locations is a requirement for this position. On site activities can include but are not limited to; client meetings training utility audits and vendor support. Travel will be approximately be 10 - 30%.

Estimated compensation for this position:
101500..00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications location market conditions and internal considerations.
