Position Overview
Sage Veterinary Imaging Centers is seeking a board-certified Veterinary Radiologist to serve as Radiologist Residency Director providing leadership oversight and continued development of our expanding radiology residency program.
This role integrates clinical practice teaching and program management with responsibility for ensuring a structured high-quality training experience aligned with ACVR partnership with the CEO Director of Education and supervising diplomates the Residency Director will advance a program that bridges academic excellence and clinical practice preparing residents for success across both environments.
This position is based in Austin/Round Rock Texas with an expected onsite presence of at least 60%. A full-time onsite arrangement is also available with relocation support provided. For candidates unable to relocate Supervising Diplomat discussions may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Provide overall clinical management and direction for the radiology residency program Partner Director of Education to develop evaluate and refine program structure and goals
- Guide thoughtful program growth while maintaining consistency rigor and training quality
- Contribute clinical knowledge to initiatives that support the advancement of veterinary radiology education and specialty training
Curriculum & Educational Development
- Work closely with the Director of Education and supervising diplomates to ensure a cohesive well-structured curriculum
- Oversee the didactic and case-based teaching working with the Education team to facilitate its development.
- Ensure alignment between clinical exposure and educational objectives As the clinical subject matter expert for the Director of Education supports the development of educational content grounded in active clinical practice.
Faculty Development
- Working with the Director of Education support the onboarding orientation and development of clinical instructors
- Provide feedback and coaching to strengthen teaching effectiveness and consistency Foster a culture of engaged accountable clinical educators
Resident Mentorship & Evaluation
- Provide direct mentorship to residents throughout their training
- Deliver timely constructive feedback across clinical and educational settings Oversee resident progress ensuring development of: Diagnostic and clinical reasoning Professionalism as defined by the ACVR and Sage Veterinary Imaging Readiness for board certification and independent practice
Clinical Practice & Teaching
- Maintain an active role in clinical radiology service
- Provide case-based and real-time teaching in the clinical environment Model a hybrid academicprivate practice training environment where teaching is embedded in high-quality efficient clinical care
- Ensure residents are exposed to diverse case material workflow expectations and decision-making in a specialty setting
- Provide ongoing and adequate feedback
Internship & Research Development
- Collaborate on the structure and experience of interns with radiology exposure Support clinical research projects for interns and residents
Accreditation & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to ACVR training requirements and standards
- Coordinate with the Director of Education to ensure case logs performance tracking and required documentation is completed accurately and timely
- Maintain program readiness for accreditation review and reporting
Qualifications
- Board-certified Veterinary Radiologist (ACVR)
- Experience in clinical teaching mentorship or residency training Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Commitment to high standards in both clinical care and education Interest in building and evolving programs within a collaborative growth-oriented environment

The Radiologist - Residency Director will play a central role in developing radiologists who are not only well-prepared for board certification but also confident capable clinicians in a fast-paced high-quality clinical setting.
