Job Summary

Reports to: Building Principal

General Summary: A SpecializedParaprofessional to Interventionist assists in providing students with reading and time management strategies while progress monitoring of students.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:40 to 4:20 p.m.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists students primarily in grades K through 2 as an early literacy interventionist.
  • Collects and assesses data and digital assessments.
  • Implements instructional decisions in collaboration with the Interventionist.
  • Initiates responsive instructional decisions.
  • Collaborates with the Intervention Team.
  • Prompt arrival to all scheduled interventions.
  • Holds students accountable to high levels of achievement.
  • Strong communication strategies in person and through email.
  • Openness to receive regular feedback and follow through based on the observation.
  • Follow programs and best teaching strategies with fidelity.
  • Confidence in problem solving and recognizing when additional support is a necessity.
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.

Qualifications

  • Education High School Diploma (minimum) 48 college credits/Associates Degree/ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment
  • Experience Evidence of experience working with students
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledgeable with reading strategies
    • Confident to make instructional decisions

Length of Position: 36 weeks

Hours of Position:35 hours per week

Position Type: Non-exempt
