Core Responsibilities of a Store Incharge:
Inventory & Stock Management:
Maintain accurate real-time inventory records of all materials in stock registers or ERP systems.
Implement proper storage methods (e.g. shelving labeling) to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
Perform regular stock audits (physical verification) and reconcile with records to minimize discrepancies loss or obsolescence.
Monitor stock levels maintain minimum/maximum stock levels and initiate procurement requests to prevent overstocking or shortages.
Operations & Logistics:
Oversee daily operations including the receipt of incoming materials from suppliers and ensuring quality standards are met.
Inspect incoming items for damage and conformity to purchase orders.
Issue materials to departments only against authorized requisitions such as production plans or indents.
Prepare and manage documents such as goods receipt notes delivery challans and stock transfer notes.
Coordination & Compliance:
Coordinate with the Accounts Department for invoice verification and supplier payments.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations including fire safety hazard management and housekeeping within the store area.
Handle non-moving items and organize the disposal of scrap or rejected items upon approval.
Team Leadership & Reporting:
Supervise schedule and evaluate store staff.
