POSITION: Title I Pre-K Teacher Assistant (Position Available Starting 2026-2027 School Year)
SALARY: GRADE 56: $2785.12 monthly Starting Salary
DEADLINE DATE FOR RECEIVING APPLICATIONS: May 5 2026
WORK LOCATION: Rowland Norment Elementary School
EMPLOYMENT: 10 months
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of 2-year Early Childhood Degree
- Valid North Carolina drivers license
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Availability and willingness to work extended hours
- Above average interpersonal skills
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains general knowledge of computers equipment and related technology devices.
- Communicates effectively with staff and students and encourages parental involvement.
- Utilizes computers to prepare and maintain various files and records.
- Provides instructional assistance to include the planning facilitation and implementation of individual and group activities designed to encourage the social emotional physical language and cognitive development of children.
- Assists with classroom management and supervision.
- Adheres to policies and procedures as set forth by the Division of Child Development and Early Education.
- Initiates and replies to inquiries or requests via phone or electronic mail.
- Assists the teacher in maintaining a safe nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Performs basic clerical and record-keeping duties.
- Participates collaboratively and professionally to promote high quality care and education for each child.
- Assists with cleaning and disinfecting of classroom equipment and materials.
- Participates in staff development as required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
