Hastings Deering (Australia) LtdWe are seeking an experienced HSE Systems and Training Manager to lead the development maintenance and continuous improvement of our Safety Sustainability Quality and Training Management Systems across Hastings Deering. This is a permanent fulltime opportunity based out of our Archerfield Head Office.
About the Role
In this leadership position you will be responsible for ensuring our HSE and training systems are compliant efficient user friendly and aligned to legislative requirements and operational needs. Working closely with stakeholders across Hastings Deering and Sime Industrial you will lead system improvements digitalisation and training frameworks that strengthen safety performance and support long term operational capability.
You will play a pivotal role in simplifying processes enhancing compliance visibility and ensuring our people have the right training at the right levels at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing improvement of Training Needs Analysis to ensure safetycritical and compliance training meets operational needs.
- Drive the digitalisation and simplification of HSEQ systems through usercentred digital solutions.
- Oversee the review maintenance and alignment of safety and compliance training systems content and processes.
- Integrate Health Safety & Sustainability strategies and the Safety Management System into training frameworks.
- Develop clear dashboards and reporting to enhance visibility of training compliance.
- Manage projects to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.
- Lead continuous improvement of management system processes and documentation across the Sime network.
- Oversee document management processes and ensure documentation aligns with Safety and Quality IT systems.
About You
The successful candidate will bring the following experience to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety Environment or related discipline.
- 510 years experience in the Mining or Heavy Earthmoving industry with expertise in HSE training programs systems development and training resource management.
- Strong understanding of VET legislation industry standards and training/assessment principles.
- Solid knowledge of HSEQ management systems risk management and leadership/supervisor training requirements.
- Experience with document writing standards change management and managing largescale projects.
- Proven ability to utilise systems and resources to drive improvement and deliver results.
- Experience in facilitating workshops and collaborating with SMEs to gather requirements and enhance documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
