Job Summary

Job Purpose

The Chief Executive Officer & Principal Officer (CEO & PO) is responsible for providing strategic operational and financial leadership to Directline Assurance ensuring sustainable growth profitability and regulatory compliance. The role drives execution of the Companys vision and strategy while maintaining strong governance and delivering shareholder value in alignment with Board expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Execution

Develop and implement the Companys short and long-term strategy in alignment with Board direction

Translate strategy into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes

Drive business growth market expansion and product innovation

2. Financial & Business Performance

Deliver profitable growth through sound underwriting and revenue diversification

Oversee budgeting financial planning and capital management

Optimize returns to shareholders through efficient operations and investment decisions

3. Governance Risk & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (IRA) and corporate governance standards

Strengthen risk management frameworks and internal controls

Provide timely and accurate performance reporting to the Board

4. Leadership & Organizational Development

Build and lead a high-performing executive leadership team

Drive a culture of accountability performance and continuous improvement

Ensure succession planning and talent development across the organization

5. Stakeholder & Corporate Affairs Management

Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Company

Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators partners and industry stakeholders

Promote a strong corporate brand and reputation

6. Board Engagement & Support

Facilitate effective Board operations and decision-making

Provide strategic insights and support the Board in governance responsibilities

Ensure execution of Board resolutions and policies

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Finance Insurance Banking or related field

Masters degree in a business-related field is an added advantage

Professional qualifications (ACII AIIK CPA CFA ACCA Actuarial) preferred

Minimum 10 years senior management experience in insurance or banking

Membership to a recognized insurance professional body (AIIK or equivalent)
