UW Medical CenterMontlake-Emergency Department Registration has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist Supervisor.

WORK SCHEDULE

• 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

• Monday Friday

• Day Shift; 6:30am - 3:00pm

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Patient Services Specialist Supervisor (PSS-Supervisor) oversees various supervisory and administrative non-clinical functions within the department. This role is responsible for leading and supervising staff in the Patient Services Specialist class series as well as other assigned personnel.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure smooth daily operations and patient safety by prioritizing tasks and managing workflow.

• Oversee staff scheduling HR data systems and deliver high-quality customer service.

• Track inventory submit repair orders and support departmental quality improvement efforts.

• Supervise and support staff while modeling professional and courteous communication.

• Develop implement and maintain organizational systems and unit procedures.

• Collaborate to uphold safety standards infection control and emergency protocols.

• Advocate for patients and families ensuring privacy dignity and cultural sensitivity.

• Foster teamwork across departments and represent the unit in meetings and committees.

• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology hospital policies and Epic ADT systems.

• Lead and participate in training continuing education and professional development.

• Demonstrate strong coordination multitasking and leadership skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with experience working with diverse populations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in a medically related or public relations field

• Four years of experience as a Patient Services Specialist

• An equivalent combination of four years experience as a Patient Services Specialist a UW Supervisory Skill Certificate and education/experience may substitute for stated requirements
