We are seeking an intellectually rigorous and empathetic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a collaborative Humanities department in Blackburn. Core Responsibilities
Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality objective and enquiry-based lessons across KS3 & KS4 with potential opportunities to teach A-Level Philosophy and Ethics.
Theological Enquiry: Guiding students through the core tenets practices and diverse expressions of the worlds major religions including Christianity Islam Judaism Hinduism Sikhism and Buddhism.
Ethical Debate: Leading sophisticated discussions on contemporary moral issues from medical ethics and animal rights to social justice and the relationship between religion and science.
Curriculum Innovation: Developing resources that reflect the unique local context of Blackburn while maintaining a broad balanced and inclusive global perspective.
Exam Mastery: Guiding GCSE cohorts through the AQA or Edexcel (Specification B) requirements focusing on high-level evaluation scriptural analysis and the command of technical vocabulary.
SMSC Leadership: Playing a pivotal role in the schools Spiritual Moral Social and Cultural (SMSC) development coordinating Interfaith Week events and managing visits to local places of worship.

Candidate Profile
Qualification: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a strong honours degree in Theology Religious Studies Philosophy or a closely related discipline.

Pedagogy: A proven track record of facilitating strong student progress and a commitment to creating an inclusive safe space for all viewpoints.
