Are you a musician with the ability to inspire a lifelong love of sound a passion for composition and the skill to lead everything from a rock band to a chamber choir

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Music Teacher to join a high-achieving Creative Arts faculty in Northampton. Set in a town with a rich cultural heritage and a thriving local arts scene centered around the Royal & Derngate this school provides a fantastic stage for a specialist. We are looking for an educator who can unlock the creative potential in every student whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time or composing complex pieces for their A-Levels.


Core Responsibilities

  • Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-energy practical and theoretical lessons across KS3 KS4 and KS5 with a focus on GCSE and A-Level Music.

  • Performance Leadership: Directing school ensembles choirs and bands and spearheading the musical direction for whole-school productions and seasonal concerts.

  • Music Technology: Developing students skills in digital composition and recording using industry-standard DAWs (such as Logic Pro Cubase or Sibelius).

  • Curriculum Innovation: Crafting a diverse and inclusive curriculum that explores a wide array of musical traditions genres and historical erasfrom classical and jazz to electronic and global fusion.

  • Exam Mastery: Guiding examination cohorts through the Eduqas OCR or Pearson specifications with a strong focus on listening papers performance assessments and coursework portfolios.

  • Peripatetic Coordination: Working closely with visiting instrumental tutors to ensure a seamless bridge between private tuition and classroom learning.
