The Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join a thriving Sports and Health faculty in Walsall. Set in a town with a strong sense of community and a proud local sporting heritage this school is dedicated to promoting lifelong health and fitness. We are looking for a specialist who can inspire both the elite school athlete and the reluctant participant to find joy and confidence in physical activity.


Core Responsibilities

  • Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering highly active engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 Core PE ensuring a broad curriculum that goes beyond traditional team sports to include fitness outdoor education and alternative activities.

  • Academic PE Mastery: Teaching examination cohorts in GCSE PE (AQA/Edexcel) and BTEC Tech Award in Sport breaking down complex concepts in anatomy physiology and sports psychology.

  • Extracurricular Leadership: Leading a comprehensive programme of after-school clubs managing school teams and coordinating local borough fixtures and regional tournaments.

  • Inclusive Practice: Adapting coaching styles and lesson structures to ensure students of all physical abilities and SEND profiles can access enjoy and progress in physical education.

  • Health & Wellbeing Advocacy: Championing whole-school initiatives focused on mental health active travel and healthy eating reinforcing the connection between physical fitness and academic success.
