We are seeking an enthusiastic and articulate French Teacher to join a collaborative MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) department in Barnsley. In a town with a strong community identity and a growing focus on global connectivity this school is looking for a specialist who can help students find their voice in a second languagefrom the foundational vocabulary of Year 7 to the complex grammatical structures required for GCSE success.
Core Responsibilities
Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-energy communicative lessons across KS3 & KS4 with potential opportunities to support A-Level French students.
Target Language Mastery: Creating an immersive classroom environment by using French as the primary medium of instruction encouraging students to develop spontaneous speaking skills.
Cultural Enrichment: Integrating the diverse cultures of the Francophone worldfrom Paris to Provence and Quebec to West Africainto the curriculum to foster global citizenship.
Phonics & Grammar: Implementing a robust approach to Conti-style Language Coaching or similar evidence-based methodologies to ensure students master French pronunciation and syntax.
Exam Mastery: Guiding GCSE cohorts through the AQA or Edexcel specifications utilising rigorous listening reading and translation practice to secure outstanding results.
Digital Innovation: Using interactive language software and authentic media (film music and news) to enhance student engagement and listening comprehension.
