We are seeking an enthusiastic and articulate Spanish Teacher to join a collaborative MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) department in Rochdale. Nestled at the foothills of the South Pennines with a rich textile heritage and a diverse multicultural population this school is looking for a specialist who can inspire students to look beyond their horizonfrom the vibrant streets of Madrid to the diverse landscapes of Latin America.
Core Responsibilities
Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-energy communicative lessons across KS3 & KS4 with potential opportunities to lead A-Level Spanish groups.
Target Language Mastery: Creating an immersive environment by using Spanish as the primary medium of instruction encouraging students to build spontaneous speaking confidence from Year 7 onwards.
Cultural Enrichment: Integrating authentic Hispanic cultureincluding film music literature and gastronomyinto the curriculum to foster a genuine curiosity and global citizenship.
Linguistic Scaffolding: Implementing evidence-based methodologies (such as EPI or Sentence Builders) to ensure students master complex Spanish grammar and the rolling R of Castilian and Latin American phonics.
Exam Mastery: Guiding GCSE cohorts through the AQA or Pearson Edexcel specifications utilising rigorous listening reading and translation practice to secure outstanding results.
International Links: Supporting extracurricular initiatives such as Spanish film clubs tapas workshops and potential international trips or virtual exchanges.
